I’ve had a couple of no-spend months in the past years, and I failed in every single one of them.
Around the end of the month, I usually made an impulse buy, and my whole no-spending streak was kaput.
This December, I’m making some changes to the strict “I shall spend no money on non-essentials.”-rule.
I am going on a low spend, where I set the following rules:
- May spend up to 25 euros on whatever I want, but I have to wait 3 days before I am allowed to purchase it.
- Stick to the budget for everything else.
I have set up a zero-based budget with a certain amount for my personal spending in each month. I will save up whatever is left by the end of the month, and use it to pay for future essentials.
I will post more on my low spend as December progresses.
